MPAC is pleased to report that we have recently concluded the 3rd IDPs intervention exercise which took place on the 22nd of September, 2015 at the Dalori Camp 2, Maiduguri. We are especially thankful to all the donors and the MPAC IDPs Camp Co-ordinator (Maiduguri), Dogo Muhammad Shettima, and his team, for doing a fantastic job on behalf of the Ummah. The IDPs are mostly people who were forced to flee the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East of Nigeria- people displaced and uprooted from their natural habitats. They are currently living in various camps scattered across the North. Other IDPs were displaced as a result of the government-led counterinsurgency operations, inter-communal violence and flooding. MPAC is joining forces with others to show a strong Muslim face and presence at the camps.

INTERVENTION UPDATE 25/06/2016         1st Intervention: Maiduguri (09/07/2015), Total Cost: N225,500.00   2nd Intervention: Falmata Modu, Dalori Camp, Maiduguri (11/09/2015-): N270,000.00* 3rd Intervention: Maiduguri (Dalori Camp 2, 22/09/2015), Total Cost: N48,450.00 4th Intervention: Abuja (Masaba, 26/10/2015), Total Cost: N95,000.00   TOTAL FUND COLLECTED FOR IDPs N997,000.00   TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED ONLINE $390.00       * Part-funded through the Sakinah Fund

The purpose of this intervention campaign in the IDPs camps is therefore to bring relief to all the victims and to win hearts and minds. Starting from the last Ramadan, MPAC calls on all Muslims to show kindness and mercy towards fellow human beings through generous donations and supports in the form of funds, household/living materials, toys and medications. Ramadan is the best season for offering good deeds and gaining rewards.

MPAC will continue to do all in its capacity to go into the IDPs camps and make a difference in the lives of the people.
