It’s 13 days to the blessed month of Ramadan.

Fasting is prescribed not only to restrain the body, but to nurture taqwa and discipline the soul. Through hunger and self-restraint, we become more conscious of Allah, more mindful of our actions, and more compassionate toward others.

Allah says:

“O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain taqwa.”
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:183

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever fasts Ramadan with faith and seeking reward will have his past sins forgiven.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 1904, Sahih Muslim 1151b

Fasting is therefore not merely about abstaining from food and drink, but about cultivating sincerity, patience, humility, and deep consciousness of Allah.

Action for today:
Reflect on the inner purpose of fasting and make du‘a that Allah grants you taqwa through Ramadan.
