It’s 15 days to the blessed month of Ramadan.

One of the subtle distractions of Ramadan is how much mental space food can occupy – what to cook, what to buy, what to prepare. While nourishment is important, overthinking meals can quietly pull focus away from the heart of the month: worship, reflection, and self-discipline.

The Prophet ﷺ reminded us of balance and restraint when he said:

Ramadan is not meant to revolve around elaborate menus or excess. Simple, nourishing meals help preserve energy, clarity, and intention, allowing the body to be supported without becoming the center of attention.

Planning ahead reduces daily stress and decision fatigue, freeing time and mental space for Qur’an, prayer, and presence with Allah.

Action for today:
Plan simple suhoor and ifṭār meals, focus on nourishment rather than excess, and shop for essential items early so food serves your worship, not distracts from it.
