It’s 8 days to the blessed month of Ramadan. 🌙
One of the most important ways to prepare for Ramadan is guarding the tongue. Words are powerful—they can uplift hearts, spread goodness, and increase reward, or they can harm, diminish deeds, and create discord. Our speech reflects the state of our hearts, and small steps in controlling it now will carry over into the sacred month.
The Prophet ﷺ warned us of the importance of purity in speech:
“Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e., Allah will not accept his fasting).” — Sahih al-Bukhari 1903

Allah also reminds us:
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
“He [i.e., man] utters no word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].”
— Surah Qāf 50:18
Every word we speak is recorded, and even small slips can impact our spiritual state. Ramadan is not only about fasting the body but also disciplining the tongue, ensuring that our words reflect mercy, truth, and mindfulness.
Reflection for Today:
Think about your daily conversations. How often do gossip, arguments, or harsh words take place? Replacing them with dhikr, kind words, or intentional silence trains your heart and prepares your tongue for Ramadan.
Action for Today:
✨ Avoid gossip, arguments, and harsh speech.
✨ Replace idle talk with dhikr and meaningful words.
✨ Practice deliberate silence to strengthen self-control and mindfulness.
Small steps in speech discipline now make it easier to enter Ramadan with a purified heart and tongue.
