LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY

MPAC engages in legislative advocacy work in order to represent the interests of the Nigerian Muslim community before various government agencies at the local, state, and national levels.

Services include constitutional/civil rights groups, legislative advocacy, public awareness/education, and specialized information and referral for all Nigerian Muslims.

The Centre’s legislative advocacy work includes informing and shaping public opinion and policy through legislation and engaging the public with various campaigns, promotes legislative action alerts, distributes legislative fact sheets, submits testimony to the National Assembly, and sponsors other civic activities designed to bring Muslim concerns to the government. All these are done in order to bring the presence and voice of the Muslim community to all those in the legislative houses.

Aside serving as a liaison between legislators and their Muslim constituency members, we hope to create a platform and resources for Nigerian Muslims to get involved, and conduct legislative and governmental advocacy to inform the policy-making process.
