In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

(29/03/2025, Lagos) We are shocked and deeply saddened by the vicious killing of 16 hunters from the North in Uromi, Edo State. This heinous act of violence is a stark reminder of the dangers of mob mentality in different parts of the country and the importance of upholding the rule of law.

The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) strongly condemns this brutal killing and calls for swift justice. We urge the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to book. It is imperative that we ensure that justice is served and that the families of the victims receive the support and compensation they deserve.

We also call on the government to take concrete steps to prevent such incidents in the future. This includes addressing the root causes of violence, promoting education and awareness, training and strengthening law enforcement agencies.

The killing of these hunters is not only a tragedy for their families but also a setback for our collective efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding. We must stand together to condemn violence and promote a culture of respect, empathy, and compassion.

We pray for the souls of the departed and offer our condolences to their families. We also pray for peace, stability, and justice in our country.

We will continue to monitor the situation and advocate for justice and peace.
