MPAC Denounces Israeli’s On-Going Acts of Terrorism

The Muslim Public Affairs Centre, MPAC, Nigeria condemns in the strongest terms the unfolding heinous terrorist crimes of the Zionist regime in Isreal against the Palestinian and Lebanese people. MPAC denounces the Israeli aggressions on the two fronts as barbaric and gruesome acts that must be condemned in the context of the great human tragedy and the comprehensive integrated policy to destroy the infrastructures of the two societies that have been besieged by the terrorist forces of Israel from land, sea and air.

It is very clear that the renewed invasion of Lebanon and Palestinian territories is a pre-planned war waiting for a trigger. Because the freeing of captive soldiers should not and cannot lead to bombing of airport, roads, communication towers, ambulances and thereby crippling the economy of an independent nation of Lebanon or Palestine.

MPAC also condemns the discredited and immoral Middle East policy of the American regime that made it to deploy its veto in the UN Security Council to abort a resolution calling on all parties to cease fire and hurriedly shipped out precision bombs to the Zionist state right in the middle of this crisis. This clearly shows the moral values that inform and drive American foreign policies in the Middle East in the hands of the neo-cons occupying the White House. By playing unconscionable roles in perpetuating the Israeli occupation of territories in the Trans-Jordan region and by opposing immediate ceasefire in the current crisis which would have saved civilian lives, the United State and United Kingdom have shown themselves as fast accomplices to the murder and destruction in the Middle East and completely incapacitated by the Zionist lobby, intimidation and bullying.

Moreover, MPAC calls on the African Union to end its silence on the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by resuscitating the spirit of truth and justice with which it opposed Apartheid in South Africa and also by joining hands with other credible institutions to confront the on-going phenomenon of Zionist terrorism. Nigeria has a crucial role to play in giving a voice and direction to this campaign and we call on our government to provide leadership in this affair. The stabilization of the region and a just resolution of the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis must guarantee the interests of all peoples in the region and must be based on international legitimacy.
