INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHI RAJI’UN
“Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.” – Qur’an 2:156
The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), Nigeria expresses deep sorrow on the passing of President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who returned to his Creator this afternoon at a clinic in London.
With hearts heavy with grief yet fully submitted to the divine will of Allah (SWT), we beseech Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of our late president, reward his service, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
While the full measure of his legacy will be left to history and the generations to come, his passing is a solemn reminder of the temporary nature of power, the accountability of leadership, and the inevitable return to our Lord. Occasions like this must compel us all to reflect on life, service, faith, nation, and conscience. May his legacy inspire and guide us as we strive to build a brighter future for our beloved country.
On behalf of the leadership and community of MPAC, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the government and people of Nigeria. In this moment of national reflection, we pray that Allah grants comfort, strength, and mercy to all who mourn this loss.
May Allah grants the former President’s soul eternal peace and comfort to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
