MPAC Mourns Death of Former President Umaru Musa Yar’adua
Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have succeeded: for the life of this world is but good and chattels of deception. Surah Al-Imran, 185.
Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilehi Rajihun.
The Muslim Public Affairs Centre wishes to express its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the former President, Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’adua who passed away on Wednesday, May 05 after months of struggle with an illness.
This reminds us that death is inescapable and can catch up with any individual at anytime. Nothing a man possesses; children, fortune, status or fame can repel death. Man has no other choice. Each one of us, in heedlessness, moves a step closer to the Day of Judgment every single day.
Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’adua was the governor of Katsina State from 29 May 1999 to 28 May 2007 and was sworn in as Nigeria’s fourth elected Head of State on 29 May, 2007. The former President had his dreams and vision for Nigeria but when death comes, all dreams stop. It is left to those of us he left behind to make his death a turning point and work for a Nigeria that will be God-conscious, great, powerful, respected and just towards all its citizens. Former President Yar’adua is survived by his mother, wife and children and has been buried earlier today.
May Allah accept former President Umaru Musa Yar’dua into His care and may He grant us all the good he wished for Nigeria, and the reward he sought from his Lord.
O ye who believe! Fear Allah and let every soul look to what provision he has sent forth for the morrow. Yeah, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. Surah Al-Hashr, 18.
