Imagine a Nation or Community With No Armed Forces,
No Police and No Fire Fighters
Wednesday, 5 May 2021 | 23 Ramadan, 1442 AH
[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right – only because they say, “Our Lord is Allah.” And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might. [Hajj: 40]
Human beings are naturally selfish and individualistic. They only do what favours them without minding the impact of their actions on other people.
Imagine that there are no checks and balances in our mundane affairs. Human beings will trample on the right of others without remorse and there’ll be an utter disregard for law and order.
That’s why every nation has its own extant laws and penal codes.
Imagine that there’s a riot and there’s no one to curb it. There’ll be complete chaos, many lives will be exposed to danger, and properties will be destroyed (or looted).
We all saw what happened at the last #EndSARS protests in some parts of Nigeria. Even with the presence of armed security operatives, people still took advantage of loopholes and created chaos.
Now imagine how much damage would have happened without the intervention of our security personnel. Perhaps the damage would have been much worse even though we’re still counting our losses.
So at every point, there’ll always be a need to address cases of high-handedness and also rise in defence of the weak.
This is exactly what we do at MPAC.
For more than 20 years, we have been at the frontline, rising in Muslim defence and promoting their individual liberties as well as their religious, civil and political rights.
We have been a major voice within the Nigerian Muslim community through our various campaigns and advocacies.
Here are some of the successful campaigns we launched within the space of 5 years.
- Hijab Rights Advocacy

- A Petition to Protect Muslims in South-Eastern and South-Southern Nigeria

- Interfaith Dialogue

- The MPAC ENGAGE Campaign for Muslim Political Empowerment
- Muslim Coalition Against COVID-19

- Campaign Against Rape
- Group Report on Herders/Farmers Conflicts in Nigeria
Now, imagine that an organisation like MPAC doesn’t exist. Our voices would go unheard and the political manipulation of Muslims would continue to thrive.
As you know, the political landscape in Nigeria is highly volatile. A lot of times, people hide under religion to achieve their ulterior motives which are often politically motivated.
This is why Muslims need a body (like MPAC) to speak on their behalf.
We, on our part, are also happy to keep working on the frontline. But due to the significant challenges we face in dealing with Muslim-related issues in a heightened Islamophobic environment, MPAC is constantly under financial strain to meet our financial needs. Hence, we need you to empower us.

MPAC has one humble request from you…
Thousands of Nigerian Muslims rely on the services we provide at MPAC and thousands more from around the world visit our website for news every day. Due to the significant challenges we face in dealing with Muslim-related issues in a heightened Islamophobic environment, MPAC is constantly under financial strain to meet our financial needs.
To maintain editorial and financial independence, with no sectarian or political allegiance to any particular group or movement, MPAC relies only on donations from individuals like you.
It is easy to understand the importance of organisations that do the sort of work we do at MPAC in today’s climate. Please support us financially and please support us for as little as N1000 a month. It only takes a minute to make a one-off donation or to set up a standing order with your bank. Jazakallah khayran.
